China''''s quarterly iron ore imports hit record high in Q1, 2011- 20 Apr 11

According to data, China’s iron ore imports in Q1, 2011 was 177 million tons which hit the record high. 
In addition, the total amount of imports was US$27.7 billion with the average price of US$156.6/ton, which was the record high as well.
However, the market analyst predicted that iron ore import will slow down as the Chinese iron ore domestic production in Northeast China is increasing starting from April.
It’s known that China’s monthly iron ore import was 68.97 million tons in January, and then slid to 48.64 million tons in February, while it rebounded to 59.48 million tons in March.
