Emirates Steel Industries (ESI),
the largest longs producer in the UAE, has announced domestic offer prices for
March-production rebar.
Due to a decrease in a booking price for Turkish rebar, lower scrap and billet
costs in the region, the local supplier has cut its rebar prices by $26/t (AED
95/t) to $514/t (AED 1,890/t) EXW TW ($1 = AED 3.675), Metal Expert learns. ”It
is cheaper than Turkish cargoes arriving in March at $485-500/t CFR [including
import duty],” a UAE-based trader said.
