Iran’s Esfahan Steel under Negotiation for Export of 10,000 MT Rebar

Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO), one of the largest manufacturer and exporter of finished long steel in Iran has exported 805,434 MT of steel in first nine months of current Persian year (21 Mar-21 Dec’18) registered a growth of 87% Y-o-Y.

As per market sources, ESCO is negotiating with buyers for export of 10,000 MT of rebar to be sold to Scotland in coming month. ESCO has recently shipped 5,000 MT cargo of rebar to England at USD 505/MT. The deal was finalized in late Oct’17, which was due shipped at January.

Deputy of Marketing and Sales of Esfahan steel, Mr. Ehsan Dashtyaneh, recently referring to CARES certification which is mandatory to export construction steel in GCC, UK and Africa, said “by obtaining the CARES certificate, export of Esfahan Steel in European markets and Arab countries of the Persian Gulf has started."

He continued "We have been exporting steel to European markets such as the Netherlands and Belgium in the past years but starting this year after obtaining CARES certificate, we have also been able to export steel fittings."

ESCO - Major Finished Long Steel Exporter in Iran

ESCO has exported 805,434 MT of steel in first nine months of current Persian year registered a growth of 87% Y-o-Y. The company exported 115,451 MT of rebar up by 6% Y-o-Y, followed by beam and coil with 80,343 MT and 48,589 MT respectively. Beam shipments were down by 25% Y-o-Y, while coil exports surged up 999% Y-o-Y. Steel products listed as "other" made up to 561,051 MT of total exports, up by 167% Y-o-Y.

Iran's Esfahan Steel Cancel Export Tender of 30,000 MT Billet

Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO), one of the biggest steel exporter of Iran had invited tender for export of 30,000 MT billet for second half of Mar'18 delivery. Payment term was full cash in advance with 25% as down payment and remaining 75% after first written notice of cargo readiness in port. The due date for submission of firm bid was 08-Jan'18.
As per market sources " ESCO has cancelled its tender owing to low bids, company was expecting around USD 500-505/MT FOB Iran whereas, the highest bid offered was USD 495/MT FOB Iran."
