The price of first level ship plate for 2009 January shipments is settled at C&F US$840/ton, which is US$60/ton lower than December between some Chinese main steel mills and Korean shipbuilding enterprises.
Besides, the second level’s price will be C&F US$750/ton. Meanwhile, Japanese steel mills also have finished price negotiation with Korean shipbuilding enterprises for the first quarter ship plate shipments of 2009.
However, Korean shipbuilding enterprises still look forward to reduction of Japanese ship plate price for April~ September shipments in line with Chinese dropping price. Source: Yieh.com
