Tokyo Steel: to raise prices to cover higher costs- 27 Jan 11

Tokyo Steel Manufacturing Co (5423.T: Quote), Japan''s biggest construction steelmaker, said on Monday it will raise prices of its all products in February to cover rising input costs.Tokyo Steel said it will raise H-beam steel prices by 3,000 yen ($36) to 28,000 yen in February.Rival Nippon steel Corp (5401.T: Quote), the world''s fourth-biggest steel maker, recently notified its distributors of a price rise of 10,000 yen per tonne for H-beams used in construction, citing higher raw materials costs and a decline of inventories to a record low level.Steel scrap prices are rising on strong demand from Asian consumers.
