Weekly Analysis:
In the world market: The global market remained in a wait-and-see mode, with iron ore prices having eased slightly. However, demand for raw materials is expected to improve between September and November, raising hopes for the market. Nevertheless, the finished steel market remains weak, putting further pressure on steelmakers’ profit margins.
The situation in the Strait of Hormuz and new US sanctions could have an impact over the coming months. Sanctions on Iran will undoubtedly affect the Turkish and Iraqi markets.

In the domestic market
: Last week, the foreign exchange rate fluctuated significantly, which in turn boosted exports and pushed prices higher. Meanwhile, the stock exchange’s new plan to raise the base price of rebar led to increased supply, accompanied by higher rebar prices.
In the flat steel market, the rise in the foreign exchange rate supported prices, but weak demand for these products continues.
In the coming days, the market will remain largely influenced by exchange-rate movements, while demand is not expected to change significantly. Steel supply will be affected by energy availability and costs, particularly natural gas, whose impact on DRI production is expected to become evident in October.

CBI average ex-rate: Rials 1,589,555/1USD
